On Time and On Cost
Late running projects or projects that go over budget are massive drain on resources for all concerned, and often these situations lead to complete failure of the project concerned. Egghead has some highly evolved processes to ensure that we deliver quality software on time and within budget.
When we approach a project, we go to great lengths to understand your requirements and to ensure that you are fully confident that we understand. Once you are happy that we know exactly what you need us to do, we can provide you with an accurate cost and timescale for the project. Our processes are designed to ensure that we stick to the project plan – all our developers are appraised on their ability to either meet or exceed our estimated schedule. Each week a management report is prepared by our project managers showing how well each developer has performed in the last week, and what their schedule for the coming week is. This gives us (and therefore you) the confidence to know that things are under control.
It’s not enough to just deliver on time – you also need us to deliver quality code, and again, we have processes in place to ensure that we do this via:
- Automated Testing – as we develop code, we also develop a series of programmes that tests the code we have written
- Code Generators – we have sophisticated code generation tools that automate (and therefore eliminate errors) from many common programming tasks. This also helps to reduce costs as it makes us more productive.
- Common Libraries – some things we have to do in every project, and so we have libraries of code that we have previously written
